We’ve all heard the infamous phrase: “a land without a people for a people without a land,” often used about historic Palestine. However, this concept couldn't be further from the truth, as the attached video clearly shows. Far from being empty or desolate, Palestine was a vibrant and central hub in the region, attracting people from various places who came to live, work, and do business there. As an Israeli, I was never taught this aspect of our local history. Instead, I was led to believe that the land was deserted. The Zionist narrative, which downplays the significance of the Palestinian presence, reveals the extent of the loss Palestinians suffered at the beginning of the 20th century due to the influx and takeover by Zionists. This makes it easier to understand why Palestinians refer to this period as the Nakba, or catastrophe. Watch the video to see this untold history brought to light.
